We are committed to delivering exceptional service to our customers and our community. We are looking for a Site Engineer to join our Networking Team. Role Overview The Site Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining the physical infrastructure that supports Grizzly Broadband's network. This position works in the field to install and maintain network equipment, troubleshoot site and power issues, perform preventative maintenance, and respond to network outages and emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform tower climbing and tower-based hardware installation Install, mount, and maintain radios, antennas, networking hardware, and associated equipment Install and maintain network equipment at remote sites Maintain and troubleshoot DC and AC site power systems Perform generator maintenance and provide generator support Maintain solar power systems and related equipment Perform battery maintenance, testing, and replacement Verify adequate power capacity for installed and planned equipment Troubleshoot physical site, network, power, and equipment issues Perform emergency repairs and respond to network infrastructure issues Serve as the primary physical response resource for after-hours outages when required Maintain accurate site access information and key management Manage fiber cabinet patching and associated documentation Install and maintain network and power equipment within fiber cabinets Support ingress conduit, cabling, and related cabinet and site infrastructure Perform preventative maintenance of physical network facilities Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas at network sites Follow all company safety procedures and industry best practices Document installations, maintenance, repairs, and site changes Work collaboratively with the Networking Team and other departments as needed Perform other duties related to network infrastructure and site operations as assigned
Physical Requirements:
Crawl, squat, kneel, bend, climb ladders, and work on uneven terrain. Independently lift and carry up to 75lbs. Ability to push, pull, lift up to 50lbs including positioning fiberglass extension ladders and operating the fly section. Ability to operate construction equipment and tools safely. Ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and dig for extended periods of time. Safely perform physically demanding installation and service work.
Qualifications:
Tower climbing experience or willingness to obtain tower-climbing certification Strong understanding of networking infrastructure and physical network systems Working knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and related networking technologies Ability to troubleshoot network equipment, power systems, and physical infrastructure Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills Ability to read and understand technical documentation, diagrams, and equipment specifications Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in remote or emergency situations Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to safely work at heights and in a variety of weather and environmental conditions Valid driver's license and ability to travel to remote network sites Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of hands-on networking, telecommunications, or infrastructure experience Experience working with fiber optic infrastructure and fiber cabinets Experience with BGP, MPLS, IPv6, and advanced network infrastructure Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered Experience in the telecommunications, broadband, utility, or similar industry Relevant tower climbing, OSHA, electrical, or safety certifications Please submit your resume through Indeed.com, email documents to hr@grizzlybb.com or mail your information to Grizzly Broadband, L.L.C.,
