Job Description

Overview:
Our client, a highly regarded architecture and engineering firm, is looking for a skilled Structural Engineer with a PE License to join their growing team. In this role, you'll partner closely with multidisciplinary staff, clients, contractors, and vendors to help turn innovative design concepts into reality. The position offers exposure to a broad mix of project types, including office buildings, schools, multifamily residences, hotels, restaurants, banks, and retail spaces. Some travel will be required for site visits and client meetings, helping ensure projects run smoothly and client relationships stay strong. This full-time position is located in Kalispell, MT.
Responsibilities:
Independently lead structural design staff throughout the project design and construction phases. Identify and solve problems with a goal to provide appropriate and constructable solutions. Work in a multi-discipline team environment to manage the development, design, and implementation of structural concepts, systems, drawings, and specifications. Coordinate with external suppliers, internal design teams, and manufacturers. Ensure structural designs meet company quality standards. Use various software packages to calculate gravity, lateral, and foundation loads. Respond to contractors during the construction.
Requirements:
5+ years of experience post-graduation from an accredited University. Structural Professional Engineer (PE) License. (SE designation a plus, but not required) Relevant design experience with building structural systems using wood, steel, concrete, and masonry. A strong understanding of building codes and value engineering practices. Organized and able to handle multiple tasks at a time. Self-starter who can work independently and be part of a team. Outstanding organization, attentiveness to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills. Work independently, managing priorities and providing mentorship to junior staff. Ability to prioritize strategically and demonstrate flexibility to achieve long-range goals. Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Bluebeam, Autodesk Revit, and industry standard structural design software. (Preferably - ENERCALC, RISA, Simpson, or Woodworks) Work sponsorship is not available at this time. Third-party candidates will not be considered for this position.
