Senior Project Engineer:
The Senior Project Engineer plays a vital role within the Engineering team. This position involves analyzing data and devising innovative strategies to enhance production processes for improved efficiency, cost reduction, and waste elimination. The Senior Project Engineer will lead a team on moderate- to large-sized projects or manage a critical segment of a more intricate initiative. Job Duties & Responsibilities of the
Senior Project Engineer:
Create engineering designs, material specifications, and project cost estimates. Conduct research and feasibility studies to support design decisions. Ensure designs comply with standards and codes, oversee field work, and create as-built drawings. Review engineering submissions for accuracy and compliance, coordinate project activities with vendors, contractors, and plant teams, and work with management and engineering teams to implement plans. Direct vendors and contractors on layout planning and utility requirements. Review consultant work, maintain documentation, and suggest changes as needed. Carry out project planning, prepare proposals, evaluate bids, and submit status reports to management. Manage project budgets and ensure financial goals are achieved.
Education & Experience Requirements of Senior Project Engineer:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or related field from an accredited university and at least 5 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong knowledge of engineering principles in food processing and the meat industry is preferred. Proficiency in applying engineering principles to operational and design challenges. Familiarity with construction project scheduling and installation methodologies. Skills in Project Management, Contract Administration, and interpretation of national codes and standards are essential. Experience managing large-scale projects with substantial budgets is desirable. Proficient in engineering economics and AutoCAD. Open to travel for collaboration with other locations (50% of the time). Possess strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive work culture. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and demonstrate excellent analytical and adaptive skills. Ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic team environment. Strong understanding of engineering principles related to food processing and the meat industry, preferred.
