Our client is a leading electrical construction contractor delivering complex commercial, infrastructure, mission-critical, and tenant improvement projects throughout the New York metropolitan area. They are seeking a talented Electrical Project Engineer with strong BIM/VDC experience to support the design, coordination, and execution of large-scale electrical construction projects. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain detailed electrical BIM models using Revit and AutoCAD
Coordinate electrical systems with mechanical, plumbing, structural, and other trades
Participate in virtual and onsite coordination meetings with project teams and stakeholders
Utilize Navisworks for clash detection and model coordination
Produce installation and construction drawings for conduit systems, electrical equipment, supports, and related systems
Review designs and drawings for compliance with project specifications and applicable codes
Perform electrical calculations including load analysis, voltage drop, and ampacity studies
Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and support project execution
Collaborate closely with project managers, superintendents, field personnel, and design teams Required Qualifications Degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field OR equivalent experience.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in electrical engineering for commercial construction projects, including electrical construction and coordination.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, & Navisworks and experience producing electrical construction drawings.
Experience working on commercial construction projects
Ability to read and interpret construction and electrical drawings
Understanding of electrical distribution systems and NEC requirements
Experience producing installation drawings and coordinated BIM models
Excellent communication and organizational skills Preferred /
Nice-to-have:
Professional Engineer (PE) or EIT certification, construction management experience, familiarity with Mission Critical facilities and infrastructure projects, experience with Electrical BIM and VDC standards, proficiency with project management tools, and past experience with contractor coordination on complex commercial builds.
