Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Muñoz Engineering and Land Surveying, DPC is seeking a Junior Civil Engineer with strong AutoCAD Civil 3D skills and proven land development experience to join our growing team. This role supports private-sector site development projects throughout New Jersey and New York and is ideal for an engineer with a solid technical foundation looking to grow within a multi-discipline firm..

Muñoz Engineering is a multi-discipline engineering, design, land surveying, and construction inspection firm with over 40 years of experience serving public and private sector clients across NY and NJ. Prepare and develop civil engineering plans and construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D for land development projects, including commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments. Perform site grading, drainage, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, and utility design. Create and manage Civil 3D surfaces, corridors, alignments, profiles, and pipe networks. Prepare engineering calculations and assist with reports and permit submissions. Coordinate with CAD staff, surveyors, and other disciplines to ensure accurate model integration. Address municipal and agency review comments and revise plans accordingly. Implement redlines and perform internal quality control checks under senior engineer supervision.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
AutoCAD Civil 3D (Strong Proficiency Required): Surface modeling and grading design Alignments, profiles, and pipe networks Volume calculations and plan production
Land Development:
Site grading and drainage Stormwater management systems Sanitary sewer, water main, and utility layouts Erosion and sediment control plans
Additional Tools:
Bluebeam Revu Microsoft Office Suite
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. 5+ years of professional experience with a strong focus on land development projects. Advanced working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D in a production environment. Familiarity with NY municipal and agency design standards. Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred or on PE track. Strong technical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively in a team environment.
