POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking an Entry-Level Civil / Geotechnical / Environmental Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Civil Engineering graduate or an engineer with up to three years of experience to build a strong technical foundation through hands-on field work, engineering design, construction inspection, and project support.
You'll work alongside experienced engineers on a variety of commercial, industrial, infrastructure, and environmental projects while gaining exposure to geotechnical investigations, construction materials testing, environmental assessments, and project management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform construction observations and site inspections to verify compliance with plans, specifications, and engineering standards.
Assist with geotechnical engineering investigations, including soil classification, laboratory testing, and engineering evaluations.
Conduct inspections of concrete, reinforcing steel, foundations, retaining walls, utilities, asphalt, and site development work.
Perform engineering calculations and assist with preparation of technical reports and design documents.
Support engineering design by coordinating with drafters and reviewing project drawings.
Collect soil and groundwater samples for environmental investigations.
Assist with groundwater monitoring, contamination assessments, and installation of monitoring wells.
Participate in laboratory testing to determine engineering design parameters.
Support project scheduling, budgeting, and coordination of engineering deliverables.
Prepare project status reports and maintain project documentation.
Work closely with clients, contractors, and internal engineering teams.
Mentor interns and junior staff as experience grows.
Travel to project sites throughout the region as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
0-3 years of civil, geotechnical, environmental, or construction engineering experience.
Internship or construction experience is highly preferred.
Ability to read and interpret civil, structural, grading, utility, and foundation drawings.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Comfortable working in both office and outdoor construction environments.
Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within six months.
OSHA 40-Hour
HAZWOPER
certification.
Experience with construction materials testing and inspection.
ACI Concrete Field Testing Certification.
NICET Certification.
Nuclear Density Gauge Certification.
NJ DCA Special Inspector certification (where applicable).
