Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Structures Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. This role involves leading the development and analysis of structural designs for a variety of construction projects, ensuring compliance with building codes, safety standards, and client specifications. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of structural engineering practices, project management, and advanced design tools. As a Senior Structures Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering innovative, safe, and efficient structural solutions that meet project objectives and regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities include developing detailed structural designs utilizing state-of-the-art analysis tools, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to integrate civil and geotechnical considerations, overseeing construction phases to ensure adherence to design intent, and maintaining clear communication with clients and stakeholders throughout project lifecycles. Your expertise will contribute significantly to the successful execution of complex projects across various sectors, including commercial, industrial, and infrastructure developments. Responsibilities Lead the development of structural designs for steel, concrete, masonry, and system-based structures using advanced CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and Civil 3D. Perform comprehensive structural analysis utilizing tools like FEA (Finite Element Analysis) software to evaluate load capacities, stability, and safety margins. Ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes, construction regulations, and industry standards through rigorous building code analysis. Manage project scheduling to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards; coordinate with project management teams for resource allocation. Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation using technical writing skills to communicate design concepts clearly. Oversee construction phases by providing technical support on-site; review shop drawings created in Bluebeam or similar programs. Collaborate closely with clients to understand their requirements; communicate technical information effectively to non-engineering stakeholders. Conduct geotechnical assessments and incorporate geotechnical engineering principles into structural system design. Utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools such as Revit and Civil 3D for integrated project planning and visualization. Apply structural analysis practices to optimize material usage while ensuring safety; develop innovative solutions for complex structural challenges. Maintain awareness of construction regulations related to steel, concrete, masonry structures; ensure all designs adhere strictly to these standards. Support project engineering activities by coordinating with multidisciplinary teams including civil engineers and system designers. Experience A minimum of five years of progressive experience in structural engineering within the construction or consulting industry. Proven expertise in developing structural designs for diverse projects involving steel, concrete, masonry, or composite systems. Extensive experience using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, Civil 3D for drafting and modeling purposes. Demonstrated proficiency with structural analysis tools including FEA software; experience with Mathcad is advantageous. Strong background in project management principles; capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Practical construction experience that provides insight into field conditions and construction practices. In-depth knowledge of building codes and standards applicable across various regions; ability to perform thorough building code analysis. Familiarity with geotechnical engineering concepts and GIS applications relevant to civil infrastructure projects. Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration; capable of producing clear technical documentation. Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or commercial projects is preferred.
