Senior Project Engineer -
Data Center ConstructionLocation:
Reno, Nevada (Relocation Assistance Available)About the OpportunityA growing electrical and mission-critical construction organization is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support the successful execution of large-scale data center construction projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on technically complex projects involving critical power infrastructure, electrical systems, and mission-critical facilities in one of the fastest-growing technology markets in the country.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in supporting electrical construction projects from preconstruction through completion. This position plays a key role in material procurement, document control, project coordination, scheduling, and client communication while working closely with project managers, field teams, vendors, and subcontractors.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated construction professional looking to advance their career in the rapidly expanding data center industry while relocating to the Reno area.

Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the day-to-day management and execution of electrical and mission-critical construction projects.

Review project drawings, specifications, and construction documents to ensure project requirements are met.

Manage submittals, maintain submittal logs, and coordinate approval processes.

Assist with the preparation, tracking, and resolution of RFIs.

Coordinate material procurement, quantity take-offs, and delivery schedules to support field operations.

Track project documentation, maintain records, and ensure timely communication among project stakeholders.

Assist with change order pricing, field work orders, and project cost tracking.

Collaborate with purchasing teams, vendors, manufacturers, and subcontractors to ensure project milestones are achieved.

Coordinate schedules with project superintendents and field personnel.

Participate in project meetings, job site visits, and client discussions.

Support design-build projects in collaboration with engineering teams.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by providing timely communication and high-quality service.

Help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

QualificationsRequired ExperienceMinimum of 2 years of experience as a Project Engineer supporting Electrical, Data Center, Mission Critical, or Commercial Construction projects.

Experience managing construction documentation, procurement activities, and project coordination.

Understanding of electrical construction methods, materials, and project delivery processes.

Technical SkillsProficiency in:

Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)BluebeamAdobe AcrobatExperience with Accubid Trimble is a plus.

Ability to review plans, specifications, and technical documentation.

Strong knowledge of material tracking, procurement, and construction workflows.

Professional SkillsExceptional organizational and time management skills.

Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.

Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and accuracy.

EducationHigh School Diploma or GED required.

Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
