Junior Project Engineer - MEP System Design Bayside, NY Full-TimeOn-Site$85,000 - $100,000 /yr Posted July 23, 2026 MEP Project Engineer Based in Bayside, Queens, NY, we are a top-rated engineering consulting firm providing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design services for existing building upgrades, infrastructure improvements, and facility modernization projects. We're seeking an MEP Project Engineer with experience in HVAC and building systems design to support engineering projects from assessment through construction administration. This role is ideal for an engineer or designer with AutoCAD experience who is looking to expand their project leadership responsibilities while working directly with clients and senior engineering professionals.
Role and Responsibilities:
Support the design and execution of MEP projects involving HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and related building infrastructure Perform site inspections, field assessments, and existing conditions evaluations for commercial, residential, and institutional buildings Assist in the preparation of engineering reports, specifications, bid documents, code reviews, and construction administration activities Create and modify MEP drawings using AutoCAD while coordinating with drafting and design team members Review designs for compliance with applicable NYC building codes and industry standards Participate in client meetings, project walkthroughs, and technical discussions with owners, contractors, and consultants Support project delivery by coordinating schedules, documentation, and engineering deliverables Provide high-quality technical support while helping ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule
Qualifications:
3-5 years of MEP engineering or design experience Experience with HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, and cooling towers Proficiency with AutoCAD Familiarity with NYC building codes and relevant engineering standards Experience performing site inspections, assessments, or construction administration activities Strong communication, organization, and client interaction skills Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently Benefits Base Salary Between $85-90k +OT Medical, Dental and Vision Coverage 401(K), Short Term, Long Term and Life Insurance Standard PTO Package including Vacation, Sick, and Holidays For this position you must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
