No County To Be Determined Street Address TBD City Cortlandt Manor - or - Fishkill State NY Zip Code 10567 Duties Description Duties include but may not be limited to:- Supervise and inspect building construction projects of moderate size and complexity.
- Coordinate the work of contractors and multiple trades to ensure compliance with contract drawings, specifications, schedules, standards, and construction procedures.
- Perform field inspections and investigations; review workmanship, materials, installations, and schedule testing for compliance with contract requirements.
- Monitor contractor progress and schedules, identify potential delays, and coordinate with contractors and scheduling staff regarding corrective actions or recovery schedules when necessary.
- Review shop drawings, product data, samples, submittals, FRIs, Information Bulletins, and other construction documentation for completeness and contract compliance.
- Investigate field conditions, construction conflicts, and design issues and coordinate with supervisory and design staff to develop appropriate resolutions.
- Prepare, review, and recommend contract changes, field/change orders, time extensions, and other contract-related documentation.
- Conduct and participate in project meetings; maintain required project records, reports, correspondence, inspection documentation, and construction files.
- Review contractors' applications for payment and verify quantities and work completed prior to recommending payment.
- Assist with substantial completion, final inspections, project turnover, closeout documentation, and warranty-related activities.
- Provide direction and oversight to assigned inspection staff and/or consultants and review their work and reports.
- Assist higher-level staff with the administration and oversight of larger or more complex projects.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor, consistent with the operational needs of the Division of Construction.
Operational Needs:
- Travel may be required (approximately 50%).
- Possession and maintenance of a valid Driver's License issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicle is required or otherwise demonstrate the capacity to meet the transportation needs of the job.

- This is a field-based position and is not eligible for telecommuting. Salary Adjustments for Positions at the Assistant level in Cortlandt Manor
- Geographic pay differential added to hiring salary = $13,500.
- Downstate Adjustment added to hiring salary = $4,150

- Increased Hiring Salary = $12,264 Minimum Qualifications This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS)
- and applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications to be considered for this position: A New York State Professional Engineer's license and current registration AND a qualifying bachelor's degree or higher as listed below; OR a New York State Professional Engineer's license and current registration AND one year of full-time qualifying engineering experience as listed below.
Qualifying degrees:
Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Materials Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Engineering Science with a recognized concentration in any of the above listed engineering degrees.Qualifying experience:
One year of full-time engineering experience in the analysis and design of steel framing, concrete framing, concrete foundations and seismic design. OR Current New York State employee with one year or more of qualifying permanent service in a position allocated to a Grade 22 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.NOTE:
IN ORDER TO AWARD THE PROPER CREDIT FOR WORK EXPERIENCE, RESUMES MUST INCLUDE MONTH AND YEAR FOR START AND END DATES. IF ANY OF THIS EXPERIENCE IS LESS THAN FULL TIME, YOU MUST INDICATE THE AVERAGE NUMBER OF HOURS WORKED PER WEEK.
