Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Sr. Project Engineer to lead complex civil construction projects from conception through completion. As a key member of our engineering team, you will leverage your technical expertise and project management skills to enhance operational efficiency, improve project quality, and foster cross-functional collaboration. Job Duties Work on a variety of projects involving city, county, and state agencies; including DOT Highway repair initiatives, MTA Substations, and DEP Stormwater Management and Drainage Improvement contracts. Manage multiple construction projects concurrently at various stages and locations, using a thorough knowledge of construction trades and technologies. Prepare competitive bids, ensuring accurate resource planning and cost estimation (DOT, utility, and sitework). Procure material, subcontractors, equipment, and labor as necessary to achieve project goals: budget, schedule, and quality. Negotiate multimillion-dollar jobs with vendors and subcontractors to secure optimal terms and pricing. Execute owner billings by producing monthly payment requisitions for the work performed, including force account work. Evaluate scope changes to the contract and prepare change order packages, ensuring contract compliance and timely approval. Maintain a strong focus on daily operations, safety, administration, and contract adherence. Collaborate with the site superintendent to update project schedules and resolve outstanding issues to maintain production progress. Supervise project teams to ensure timely execution, resolve issues, and boost overall team performance. Conduct site visits to track progress, review punchlists, and participate in field meetings. Review and approve project invoices submitted by the vendor and subcontractors Minimum Requirements Bachelor's Degree is required in Civil Engineering or Construction Management 3-5 years of progressive experience Proven track record of handling scheduling, procurement, cost control, and change management. Strong leadership and team management skills Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
