@HSGI-INC.COM Responsible for assessing damage to aircraft structures, designing and implementing repair plans, ensuring the structural integrity of repaired components, and maintaining compliance with aviation safety regulations by utilizing their knowledge of materials, engineering principles, and repair techniques to restore damaged aircraft parts to their original functionality; working closely with maintenance teams to identify and address structural issues on in-service aircraft.
Key Responsibilities:
Damage Assessment:
Inspecting aircraft structures to identify damage, corrosion, or defects, analyzing the extent of damage using specialized tools and techniques.
Repair Design:
Developing repair plans based on damage assessment, including selecting appropriate repair methods, materials, and procedures to ensure structural integrity.
Repair Implementation:
Performing structural repairs by fabricating, replacing, or reinforcing damaged components using techniques like welding, riveting, and composite repair.
Documentation:
Maintaining detailed repair logs, documenting repair processes, and ensuring compliance with manufacturer's maintenance manuals and regulatory requirements.
Technical Support:
Providing technical expertise to maintenance teams regarding structural repair procedures, interpreting repair manuals, and addressing complex repair issues.
Stress Analysis:
Utilizing engineering software to perform stress analysis on repaired structures to verify their load-bearing capacity.
Material Selection:
Selecting appropriate materials for repairs based on the specific aircraft structure and damage type.
Quality Control:
Inspecting completed repairs to ensure quality standards are met and that the aircraft is airworthy.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field - preferred but not required Strong understanding of aircraft structural design principles and materials Proficiency in engineering software Knowledge of aviation regulations and maintenance procedures Experience with repair techniques like welding, riveting, and composite repair Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and maintenance manuals Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
