Job Description

SES is seeking a Project Engineer to support the management of underground utility installations and assist in the day-to-day oversight of active projects. This role works closely with Project Management, Foreman, and field crews to ensure underground pipe work and overall site operations are executed safely, on schedule, and to specification. Key Responsibilities Assist in managing and coordinating underground utility construction, including sanitary, storm, and water pipe installation Support project managers with day-to-day management of active jobsites Review project plans, specifications, and shop drawings for underground utility scopes Track material quantities, deliveries, and coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors Assist with scheduling, sequencing, and logistics to keep projects on track Prepare and maintain daily reports, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation Coordinate with engineers, inspectors, and utility companies as needed Assist with quantity take-offs, cost tracking, and change order documentation Conduct field visits to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to plans Support jobsite safety compliance and promote a strong safety culture Help resolve field issues and logistical conflicts to keep work moving efficiently Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent relevant experience) Experience with underground utility construction (sanitary, storm, water) strongly preferred Familiarity with reading civil/site plans, specifications, and grading plans Strong organizational and communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with construction management/scheduling software a plus Ability to work both in an office setting and on active construction sites Valid driver's license required What We Offer Competitive salary, commensurate with experience Opportunity to work across excavation, demolition, and utility construction disciplines Hands-on experience managing real underground utility projects from start to finish A collaborative, experienced team with decades of regional site work expertise
