Job Description

Field Engineering Technologist - Mechanical/Civil If you're tired of sitting on the sidelines of major construction projects when you know you can make a bigger impact in the field…keep reading. Per Sé Group is seeking an experienced Field Engineering Technologist - Mechanical/Civil to support the execution of major construction projects. You'll work at the intersection of field construction, engineering, contractors, and project leadership—helping ensure work is completed safely, correctly, and according to plan. If site walkdowns, work packages, field verification, contractor coordination, non-conformances, project controls, and construction progress tracking are already part of your world, we should talk. What You'll Do Support day-to-day construction activities under the direction of the Construction Manager. Coordinate with Field Supervisors and contractors to support approved schedules and work plans. Participate in site walkdowns and lead construction and progress meetings. Verify field progress against drawings, specifications, and work packages. Support site safety programs through field observations, hazard identification, and verification of contractor compliance. Maintain daily reports, installed quantities, inspection records, and other field documentation. Validate completed work to support cost, schedule, forecasting, and progress reporting. Identify construction variances, non-conformances, execution risks, and potential changes and escalate them appropriately. Serve as a liaison between field operations, engineering, project controls, contractors, and project leadership. This is a field verification and coordination role. You'll help keep the project moving without assuming responsibility for contractor means and methods, commercial decisions, or final project approvals. What You'll Bring Diploma or degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field. 6-8 years of experience supporting major construction projects. Strong Mechanical and/or Civil construction field experience. Experience working directly with contractors and multidisciplinary project teams. Strong understanding of construction safety and field practices. Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and work packages. Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills. Comfortable spending significant time in an active construction environment. If you're in the right profession but the wrong environment—and want to put your field experience to work on major projects where your observations and judgment matter—we should talk.
