Job Description We are seeking a skilled and driven Project Engineer to bridge the gap between advanced technical design and robust project execution. In this role, you won't just be designing high-precision systems; you will actively manage projects at a financial and procurement level, serve as a primary technical contact for clients, and coordinate end-to-end design workflows. Because our projects span a diverse range of critical facilities, the ideal candidate will have a well-rounded background in environmental design—including cleanrooms, metrology labs, and other controlled environments—combined with strong capabilities in refrigeration design for cold rooms and freezer applications.
What You'll Do Design & Engineering:
Lead the design and analysis of complex HVAC and refrigeration systems across a variety of specialized spaces, including ISO-rated cleanrooms, metrology labs, cold rooms, and freezers.
Project Management & Finance:
Manage project lifecycles at a financial and procurement level. Track project budgets, oversee equipment and material procurement, and ensure projects remain profitable and on schedule.
Client Communication:
Serve as a key point of contact for clients. Attend project meetings to discuss scope, provide expert recommendations, and deliver cost- and energy-efficient solutions that align with their goals.
Design Coordination:
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to integrate engineered system designs into broader projects. Review models, drawings, and submittals (airflow diagrams, sequences of operations, calculations) to ensure absolute accuracy.
Departmental Support:
Assist leadership in strategic initiatives, help develop engineering Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies.
What We're Looking For Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
Experience:
3+ years of experience in the design, analysis, and implementation of industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
Controlled Environments:
Hands-on experience designing for specialized environments such as cleanrooms, industrial labs, metrology labs, or cold storage.
Refrigeration Capability:
A solid understanding of refrigeration design principles, with experience applicable to cold room and freezer systems.
Project Leadership:
Practical familiarity with project management concepts, including managing budgets, tracking financials, and handling procurement.
Technical Proficiency:
Proficient in industry-standard design software (Auto
CAD, REVIT
) and Microsoft Office/MS Project.
Communication:
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a comfort level presenting to and collaborating directly with clients. Preferred Professional Engineer (PE) license. Experience with advanced refrigerant technologies (e.g., transcritical $CO_2$, A2L systems). Familiarity with project management and construction software like Procore or Autodesk Construction Cloud.
