Internship Overview As a Construction Materials Testing Intern, you will assist with field and laboratory testing of construction materials including asphalt, concrete, aggregate, and soil. Interns will gain practical experience supporting projects such as highways, bridges, commercial developments, municipal infrastructure, airport runways, and roadway improvements throughout the region. Work is performed both outdoors on active construction sites and in laboratory settings. No prior experience is required — training will be provided. What You'll Learn & Do Assist with field and laboratory testing of asphalt, concrete, soil, and aggregate materials Observe construction operations and learn industry testing procedures Collect and prepare material samples for testing Support density testing, asphalt coring, and concrete testing activities Maintain daily testing logs and documentation Learn how to read project specifications and follow quality assurance procedures Work alongside experienced technicians, contractors, and engineers Develop communication, technical, and problem-solving skills in a professional environment Work Environment & Physical Requirements This internship involves hands-on outdoor work in active construction and industrial environments. Interns may work around heavy equipment, traffic zones, and hot asphalt materials in varying weather conditions.
