Job Description:
Project Engineer (Civil - Land Development) Our continued growth presents an opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our Land Development team. This role focuses on contributing to and managing site development projects across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors, from concept planning through construction documentation. A successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and a minimum of 3+ years of relevant land development experience. An EIT certification is required, with a path toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D is expected, along with strong technical, communication, and organizational skills. This position involves leading elements of civil site design, performing site layout and grading, designing stormwater management systems, coordinating permitting efforts, and preparing construction documentation. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities Utilize AutoCAD and Civil 3D to develop detailed civil site designs for land development projects. Perform site layout and grading in compliance with local zoning and regulatory requirements. Design stormwater management, drainage, and erosion and sediment control systems. Research permit requirements and coordinate with local agencies to support project approvals. Prepare construction documents, technical reports, and entitlement packages. Perform earthwork calculations and drainage analysis. Support project permitting, approvals, and modifications during construction. Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project success. Position Requirements Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Minimum of 3+ years of land development or civil site design experience required EIT certification required; PE licensure or progress toward licensure preferred Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D Strong technical, communication, and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and contribute to project delivery timelines BL Companies is 100% employee owned, giving us a competitive edge and a unique distinction from most other companies.
