Department of Public Works, Bureau of Engineering Job Type:
Full-Time, Non-Union About the Position The City of Bethlehem is seeking a Project Engineer to manage, administer, and, when needed, design municipal engineering and capital improvement projects. This position works closely with the Bureau of Engineering, other City departments, consultants, contractors, and the public. Key Responsibilities Manage and supervise assigned engineering and capital projects, including construction and inspection. Prepare engineering plans, specifications, estimates, and calculations using AutoCAD. Review subdivision and site development plans and provide technical comments. Coordinate and review engineering design work with consultants. Maintain project records, reports, and documentation. Respond to public questions and complaints related to assigned projects. Attend Planning Commission, public, and other meetings as required. Perform other engineering duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering , or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Civil engineering experience involving municipal projects such as water, sewer, wastewater treatment, water filtration, streets, erosion control, or buildings . Knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices related to public infrastructure and construction. Experience preparing designs, plans, specifications, and cost estimates using AutoCAD . Strong engineering judgment, analytical skills, and ability to organize technical information. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, consultants, contractors, and the public. Work Environment This position involves a combination of office and field work. The successful candidate must be able to safely perform field work at construction sites and in varying weather and site conditions and lift up to 25 pounds.Pay:
