Job Description

Stormwater Engineering Design Assistant City of Bethlehem | Public Works/Engineering Full-Time The City of Bethlehem is seeking a Stormwater Engineering Design Assistant to join our Public Works Engineering team supporting Stormwater projects. This position performs a variety of technical engineering and design work, including preparing plans and drawings, reviewing stormwater reports, performing field work, and assisting with project planning and design. Key Responsibilities Prepare engineering drawings, layouts, and specifications using AutoCAD Review stormwater reports submitted with land development plans Calculate grades, curves, areas, cuts and fills, material quantities, and project costs Perform field work and inspections as assigned Review and update stormwater-related information in GIS Assist with MS-4 permit and PRP reporting Coordinate project planning and design with other City departments and bureaus Provide information and assistance to residents, contractors, and others regarding City stormwater standards and ordinances Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Associate's degree in Civil Engineering preferred At least 1 year of AutoCAD experience Knowledge of engineering practices, preferably stormwater/public works Ability to prepare drawings and specifications from field data and other documents Familiarity with surveying, inspections, engineering principles, and applicable ordinances and permit requirements Ability to follow oral and written instructions and work effectively with others Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered Requirements Candidates must successfully complete a criminal background investigation, pre-employment physical, and drug screening .
