Looking to get the most out of your upcoming internship? Hatch is seeking a Site/Civil Engineering Intern. Reporting to the Project Delivery Group, you will support offices globally working from our Pittsburgh, PA office location. We're entrepreneurs with a technical soul. Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering As the successful candidate, you will: Participate in and execute civil scope related to earthworks, roads, buried services, and stormwater drainage for municipal and energy projects
Communicate with internal stakeholders to ensure quality and timely outcomes
Perform assignments related to civils, drainage, and utilities, including the preparation of detailed designs and drawings from specifications
Coordinate with other technicians in designing drainage and utilities for municipal, industrial development, and transportation projects
Provide support to senior engineers and designers as needed
Conduct site inspections and surveys to gather data for project planning and design
Assist in the preparation of project reports and documentation
Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations during project execution
Participate in team meetings and contribute to project discussions and problem-solving
Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to enhance project outcomes You bring to the role: Understanding of inter-discipline requirements for the tasks at hand
Familiarity with 3D modeling and 2D drafting, training will be provided in 2D and 3D Civil 3D applications
Understanding design concept for roads, earthworks, water management and drainage
Engineering in Training Certification or the ability to obtain it within 6 months is highly desirable
Proficiency in using civil engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Revit
Basic knowledge of project management principles Competencies (knowledge, skill, attributes): Good understanding of engineering and business fundamentals as they apply to engineering problems and projects
Ability to learn quickly and to take on new challenges
Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Shows critical and creative thinking and problem solving and brings forward solutions for our clients' toughest challenges
