We're hiring a Civil Project Engineer at HCL Engineering & Surveying (Centennial, CO)! HCL has an immediate opening for a Civil Project Engineer to join our team in our Centennial office! This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled and passionate self-starter to work directly with local municipalities, development, and transportation projects. The candidate will work in a highly collaborative interdisciplinary office environment as an experienced engineer. As a key technical contributor on our engineering team, you will take ownership of design, coordination, and execution responsibilities across a variety of projects. You'll independently manage complex design and analysis tasks, lead contract administration efforts, and deliver small projects from start to finish while contributing to larger multidisciplinary efforts. You have 4+ years of relevant engineering experience and either a PE license or a clear path toward licensure. You're ready for increased ownership, enjoy mentoring junior staff, and thrive in an environment where accuracy, accountability, and collaboration matter

Your Values:
Accuracy, Ownership, and Growth How you'll spend your days: Producing complex engineering design, analysis, and drafting work while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and internal QA/QC procedures Managing contract administration responsibilities and helping keep projects moving during construction Leading small projects while coordinating with Project Managers, clients, and internal teams Collaborating across disciplines to deliver accurate, well-executed engineering solutions Maintaining accurate project documentation, including drawings, calculations, and specifications Reviewing work, mentoring junior staff, and providing hands-on technical guidance and training Communicating proactively with leadership about project status, workload, and potential bottlenecks before they impact delivery What you'll bring: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and 4+ years of professional engineering experience PE license preferred or working toward licensure Proficiency with BIM/drawing platforms and engineering design and analysis tools Ability to independently execute complex design and analysis work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail Experience supporting project execution, contract administration, and coordination across disciplines Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, client-centered approach Strong interest in mentoring and developing junior staff Client-centered, inquisitive mindset with a genuine desire to keep learning and improving
