Your impact Position Overview We are seeking an Underground Structures Design Engineer to join our Transportation team. This role is ideal for professionals with 5 to 10 years of experience who are developing their technical skills in the design of underground structures. The position focuses on hands‑on design, drafting coordination, and technical support. You will work within multidisciplinary project teams, contribute to design deliverables, and gain exposure to international standards and complex metro/urban infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities Technical Design Support Perform structural analysis and design calculations for underground structures. Prepare design sketches, calculation sheets, and technical reports. Developing design deliverables for concept, preliminary, and detailed design stages. Support in building or modifying structural models (ETABS, STAAD, MIDAS). Knowledge in soil-structure interaction and staged construction modelling as required. Review drawings and coordinate with CAD/BIM teams for accuracy and consistency. Project Coordination Coordinate with geotechnical, architectural, and MEP teams for collecting inputs. Responding to design comments from clients, proof checkers, or independent checking engineers. Support document organization, design version tracking, and compliance with project requirements. Quality & Process Adherence Follow internal QA/QC procedures, including checklists and basic IDCs/IDRs. Ensure all work complies with project specifications and relevant international codes. Preparing documentation for design reviews and audits. Construction & Site Support (as required) Support in reviewing site queries and RFIs. Assessing shop drawings and as‑built submissions. Assist with preparing sketches or clarifications required for site execution. Team & Learning Work collaboratively with peers and senior engineers. Participate in internal training, knowledge‑sharing sessions, and technical discussions. Demonstrate willingness to learn advanced structural concepts, software tools, and underground design methodologies. Here's what you'll need Education Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering (Structures specialization preferred). Experience 5 10 years of detailed design experience in structural design of underground structures. Exposure in detailed design of both permanent works and temporary supporting arrangement. Experience in Bottom-Up and Top-Down construction methodologies. Experience in detailed design of Cut and cover structures Technical Skills Familiarity with structural analysis and design tools such as STAAD Pro, ETABS, MIDAS, Tedds or equivalent. Good understanding of reinforced concrete design principles and Soil Structure Interaction. Knowledge of international codes such as Eurocodes or ACI. Working knowledge of CAD/BIM workflows (Revit, AutoCAD). Preferred Attributes Strong desire to learn and grow in underground structural engineering. Good analytical and problem‑solving skills.
