What Makes This Role Great You'll solve complex structural engineering challenges using advanced simulation technologies. You'll work directly with innovative customers across aerospace, automotive, industrial, energy, and other industries. You'll serve as a trusted advisor, helping organizations expand and mature their simulation capabilities. You'll combine technical support, consulting, training, and pre-sales activities in a highly visible customer-facing role. You'll influence customer decision-making through predictive simulation and engineering expertise. What You'll Do Deliver Technical Support Provide technical support to users of ANSYS Mechanical and ANSYS Mechanical APDL software through phone, email, and in-person interactions. Troubleshoot complex structural simulation challenges and provide practical solution recommendations. Establish best practices for simulation workflows, model development, validation, and verification. Provide Technical Training Conduct ANSYS training classes at customer sites, online, and in SimuTech offices throughout the United States and Canada. Deliver engaging, high-quality instruction on structural simulation concepts and software applications. Develop advanced technical content and educational materials for customers and internal teams. Provide Consulting Services Work with customers to understand analysis requirements, objectives, and expectations. Develop project scopes, schedules, and cost estimates for consulting engagements. Perform advanced structural simulations using ANSYS Mechanical and Mechanical APDL. Execute all phases of analysis including model development, meshing, material definition, loading and boundary conditions, solution setup, post-processing, and reporting. Analyze nonlinear structural behavior, contact mechanics, large deformation, fatigue, fracture, and failure mechanisms. Develop and evaluate alternative design solutions to improve performance and reliability. Prepare technical reports and presentations that support engineering and business decisions. Lead complex consulting engagements and provide mentorship to junior engineers. Deliver Expert Pre-Sales Support Partner with account managers to identify customer software and services needs. Answer technical questions throughout the sales process. Deliver software demonstrations, presentations, and proof-of-concept activities related to structural simulation. Help customers understand how simulation can reduce risk, improve performance, and accelerate product development. What You'll Bring Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Master's degree preferred. Significant experience performing structural finite element analysis (FEA). Demonstrated expertise with ANSYS Mechanical (Workbench) and ANSYS Mechanical APDL. Experience working directly with customers in consulting, support, training, or technical sales environments. Proven ability to manage and lead complex technical projects independently. Skills Strong theoretical foundation in structural mechanics and numerical methods. Experience with linear and nonlinear structural analysis methods. Expertise in nonlinear materials including plasticity, hyperelasticity, contact, large strain, and large deformation analysis. Experience with implicit dynamics, including modal, harmonic, response spectrum, random vibration, and transient analysis. Experience performing thermal analysis, including steady-state and transient studies. Familiarity with explicit dynamics methodologies. Experience with meshing tools including Workbench Meshing, HyperMesh, ICEM, Gridgen, or Mechanical APDL meshing techniques. Strong project management and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to explain complex engineering concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
