Job Description

Company Description Criterium Core Engineers is a small consulting engineering firm working entirely on existing buildings: reserve studies, property condition assessments, transition studies and structural evaluations for condominium and homeowner associations, property managers and commercial owners across the Midwest. An affiliate of Criterium Engineers, proudly serving North America since 1957. Every project is performed or reviewed by a licensed Professional Engineer, and the same people who walk the building write the report. Our work is focused on the long-term sustainability and performance of the communities we serve, giving clients strategic insight and practical solutions that go beyond a standard engineering report. Role Description This is a full-time, hybrid Staff Engineer position based in Munster, Indiana. Inspection days are at the property, office days are in Munster, and report work can happen from wherever you work best. You'll work directly with the firm's owner, a CAI Reserve Specialist and civil engineer, and report into a licensed Professional Engineer. On a team this size you get the whole job, not one slice of it: site inspections across six Midwest states (roofs, garages, balconies, mechanical rooms, building envelopes), component inventories and condition ratings, replacement cost estimating and thirty-year funding models in HomeRun IQ, and writing the final report, findings a board can act on and a lender can rely on. You'll also help keep projects moving: chasing documents, tracking where every job stands, and learning CAI reserve study standards and
ASTM E2018
along the way. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in civil, architectural, structural or construction engineering 0 to 4 years of experience; we will teach you reserve studies EIT, FE passed, or a plan to sit for the FE within a year; we support you through to the PE Strong written communication; you'll be asked to send a writing sample Comfortable with field work: ladders, roof hatches, a full day on your feet Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle (mileage reimbursed at the IRS rate) Prior exposure to homeowner associations or property management is a plus, but not required
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
Education:
Bachelor's (Required) Willingness to travel: 25% (Preferred)
Work Location:
