Part-Time Structural Engineer (1099) - Deck & Outdoor Structures Outback Deck Inc , based in Woodstock, GA, is a leading outdoor living company recognized for exceptional craftsmanship and a strong culture of professional growth. Role Purpose This role is responsible for overseeing and certifying the structural integrity of decking and outdoor construction projects. The individual will evaluate structural components such as deck framing, support systems, and footings to ensure compliance with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards. This is a part-time, 1099 (independent contractor) position. The role is project-based, with availability required on an as-needed basis for projects requiring engineering review, certification, and stamped documentation. Key Responsibilities Review project plans, drawings, and specifications for accuracy and completeness Assess and validate the structural integrity of deck and outdoor structure designs Review and approve structural fabrication and construction drawings Provide stamped engineering drawings, calculations, and certifications as required Collaborate and communicate effectively with contractors, project managers, and clients Ensure all designs and approvals comply with local, state, and national building codes Preferred Qualifications Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) Required Experience with residential or commercial deck and outdoor structure design Familiarity with relevant building codes (IRC, IBC, etc.) Ability to obtain multi-state licensure/reciprocity Strong written and verbal communication skills Compensation Competitive per-project pay (based on experience and scope) Why Join Us?
