•Remote / Field LB Engineering | Full-time | 100% Remote + Field Work | Tampa Bay Area US candidates only. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and currently reside in the US. Sponsorship is not available for this position. Position Overview LB Engineering is seeking a Structural Engineer who is currently licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Florida. An active Florida PE license is required for this position. Candidates who are not currently licensed as a PE in Florida will not be considered. This is a 100% remote position with a mix of home-office engineering work and field work. There is no required daily company office location. We are looking for candidates located in or around Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Brandon, Riverview, Wesley Chapel, or neighboring Tampa Bay communities who can perform field inspections and site visits as needed throughout the region. Engineers at all experience levels are encouraged to apply, from newly licensed Florida PEs to seasoned project leaders. You will be joining and helping shape a rapidly growing engineering company. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who meets deadlines, manages multiple projects, communicates well, and is comfortable working independently. Responsibilities Design and analyze structures across a wide range of project types, including single-family residential, multifamily, high-rise buildings, schools, hospitals, jails, apartment buildings, and other commercial and institutional projects Perform structural inspections and site visits throughout the Tampa Bay area and surrounding Central Florida communities Prepare field reports, structural calculations, drawings, and construction documents Lead projects independently or with senior support, depending on experience Serve as Engineer of Record and sign and seal deliverables, with responsibility scaled to experience level Coordinate with architects, contractors, owners, and internal teams Participate in client, architect, and contractor calls and represent the firm professionally Perform quality control and follow internal design standards Maintain awareness of project scope, schedules, and budgets For experienced candidates, provide redlines and technical direction and mentor drafters, EITs, and junior engineers Ensure compliance with the Florida Building Code and applicable structural design standards Requirements Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Florida
