- $112,416 Note for Salary This is the range within which SRNS expects the majority of qualified candidates would enter this role if offered.
Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include:
The role of the Construction Discipline Engineer (CDE) is to provide technical information, direction, and ensure installations are technically correct per the construction policies and procedures, design and quality requirements. In accordance with established policies and procedures, CDE is responsible for: Ensuring that Construction engineering work processes, design, quality, and other technical requirements are issued and communicated to the superintendent and crafts. Assisting in planning construction methods and procedures. Preparing bulk/field material lists and requisitions including quantities. Assisting in coordination of vendor material deliveries. Performing inspections, surveillance and maintaining records on construction installations and testing. Supporting trends for contemplated and approved design changes or any construction engineering change that impacts the cost and schedule of the work. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in an engineering field plus at least five years of experience (YOE) in a relevant role, OR Master's degree in relevant field plus at least two years of experience (YOE), OR Doctoral degree in relevant field Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered Discipline specific qualifications: Electrical- Experience with electrical system installation/modification designed and constructed in accordance with national electrical codes and standards including NFPA and NEC. Mechanical
- Experience with mechanical system installation/modification designed and constructed in accordance with national piping codes and standards including Working knowledge of ASME piping codes. Civil
- Experience with civil and architectural installation/modification designed and constructed in accordance with national codes and standards including
IBC, ACI, AISC, OSHA.
We'd Also Like to See College degree in a technical discipline and practical experience in construction engineering preferred. Previous SRS experience. Previous experience related to construction engineering, work planning, job hazards analysis, and material procurement utilizing SRS specific processes, programs, procedures, and systems. Security Clearance Information SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance.
