As a result of our continued growth, Mead & Hunt has an exciting opportunity available for an Entry-Level Civil Engineer to join our Aviation Midwest group at our Rapid City, SD office.
Responsibilities include:
Developing plans and specifications Analyzing and preparing engineering reports, and construction cost estimates for various airport design projects Performing drafting tasks in AutoCAD and Civil3D to generate plan sheets Assisting with construction administration and inspection tasks including working in the field at project sites (weekends and nights, as needed) Reading and interpreting FAA Advisory Circulars, geotechnical reports, and survey data to utilize in project designs Other tasks as assigned. A valid driver's license, the ability to pass background check to gain access to airport sites, and frequent travel (approximately 50%) will be required. The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering, construction management, or related field from an accredited college or be able to obtain the degree within six months of hire date. The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following: AutoCAD and/or Civil3D software programs Civil/transportation design coursework Construction field tasks including site grading, utilities, drainage, erosion control, paving, materials testing, and/or surveying Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project software programs If you have strong communication and organizational skills, are someone who takes initiative, and can work well both independently and as part of a team, complete the online application process for this job posting at www.meadhunt.com/careers .
