Job Description
We are looking to recruit a Mechanical Engineer or Civil / Structural Engineer with experience in steel structures to support the technical analysis and preparation of manufacturing dossiers for steel fabrication. Main Responsibilities Analyse customer drawings, structural steel drawings and technical specifications. Prepare technical dossiers for fabrication, including production documentation, material lists, cutting lists and assembly information. Review steel structure details, welded joints, bolted connections and fabrication requirements. Interpret engineering drawings, 3D models and project specifications. Identify missing information, technical inconsistencies or potential fabrication issues before production starts. Coordinate with customers, engineering teams and production to clarify technical requirements. Support the preparation of Bills of Materials — BOM. Support nesting, cutting, drilling, welding and assembly preparation. Support production teams during fabrication by clarifying drawings and technical requirements. Review tolerances, material grades, profiles, tubes, plates and structural components. Support continuous improvement in technical preparation, production flow and reduction of rework. Required Qualifications Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related technical field from an accredited institution. Experience in steel structures, steel fabrication, metalworking or industrial manufacturing. Strong ability to read and interpret structural steel drawings and fabrication drawings. Knowledge of steel profiles, tubes, plates, welded assemblies and bolted connections. Understanding of fabrication processes such as cutting, drilling, bending, welding, assembly and finishing. Good knowledge of BOM preparation, material take-off and technical documentation. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify technical risks before production. What We Value Familiarity with US structural steel codes and standards (AISC, AWS D1.1) Experience with CAD or 3D modeling software (e.g., Tekla Structures, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Advance Steel) Experience preparing shop drawings or fabrication documentation Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems is a plus
