Structural Engineer & Design Manager - Athens Texas Lead the Design. Engineer the Solution. Shape the Future. We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer & Design Manager to join our growing team. This is a unique opportunity for a licensed engineer who enjoys balancing technical expertise with leadership responsibilities. In this role, you will oversee a team of drafters and designers, review and approve structural plans, provide engineering guidance, and place your professional seal on construction drawings and calculations. If you're a hands-on engineering leader who enjoys solving complex design challenges while mentoring others and influencing projects from concept through production, we'd like to speak with you. What You'll Do Engineering Leadership Lead, mentor, and manage a team of CAD drafters and designers. Review drawings, calculations, and technical documents for accuracy and compliance. Establish drafting and engineering standards, procedures, and best practices. Coordinate with Sales, Production, Quality, and Operations teams to ensure successful project execution. Structural Engineering Design and analyze structural systems for residential manufactured home building projects. Perform structural calculations and engineering evaluations using approved software and industry standards. Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and national building codes. Review and approve construction documents, specifications, and design modifications. Apply your professional engineering seal to drawings, calculations, and engineering documents where required. Project Management Oversee multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality expectations. Collaborate with customers, third-party agencies, and regulatory authorities throughout the approval process. Provide technical support during construction, manufacturing, and installation phases. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, efficiency gains, and cost savings. What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related engineering discipline. Current Professional Engineer (PE) license in the United States. Ability to stamp and seal structural drawings and engineering documents. Minimum 5+ years of structural engineering experience. Previous experience leading, supervising, or mentoring drafting/design teams. Strong knowledge of residential and commercial building codes. Experience with structural analysis and engineering software. Proficiency with AutoCAD and construction drawing review. Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience within modular, manufactured, residential, or light commercial construction. Multi-state engineering licensure or ability to obtain additional state licenses. Experience working with third-party reviewing agencies and code compliance organizations. Travel Requirements Moderate travel required (approximately 10%).
