Advance Your Aerospace Career in San Antonio We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Stress Engineer II with a strong background in aircraft structures and aerospace structural analysis to join our team in San Antonio, Texas. What You'll Do As a Mechanical Stress Engineer II, you will play a key role in ensuring the structural integrity and airworthiness of aircraft components, modifications, and systems.
Responsibilities include:
Perform static, fatigue, and damage tolerance analyses for aircraft structures and modifications. Develop and validate finite element models using tools such as Nastran, ANSYS, and SolidWorks Simulation. Evaluate metallic and composite aircraft structures under various loading conditions. Support aircraft modification programs, including Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) and repairs. Prepare stress reports and certification documentation in accordance with
FAA/EASA
requirements. Interpret and apply FAA regulations, acceptable means of compliance, and approved testing methods. Define, support, and evaluate structural testing, including static, fatigue, and ground testing. Review engineering drawings, models, and test data to verify structural performance. Collaborate with design, manufacturing, production, and certification teams. Provide technical guidance to engineers and designers. Manage engineering subcontractors and program deliverables. Develop and modify designs to meet technical, manufacturing, schedule, and customer requirements. Prepare technical drawings and documentation supporting customer and certification requirements.
What We're Looking For Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline. Minimum 7 years of structural stress analysis experience in the aerospace industry. Demonstrated experience with aircraft structures, aircraft modifications, or structural components and systems. Experience performing static, fatigue, and/or damage tolerance analysis. Strong knowledge of metallic materials, structural members, fasteners, and aerospace engineering applications. Working knowledge of FAA and/or military standards. Proficiency with structural analysis tools such as Nastran, ANSYS, or SolidWorks Simulation. Experience with CAD platforms such as SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD/DraftSight, or equivalent. Ability to review and develop engineering drawings and technical documentation. Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
