Onsite Overview We are seeking an experienced Stress Engineer to perform structural analysis on primary and secondary airframe structures for aerospace applications. The role involves sizing, analysis, and validation of metallic and composite aircraft structures using both classical hand calculations and advanced finite element analysis (FEA) tools. Key Responsibilities Perform stress analysis of new and existing airframe structures. Evaluate design changes and update structural analysis documentation. Conduct static strength, fatigue, and damage tolerance assessments. Develop and execute hand calculations and Excel-based structural analyses. Create and evaluate finite element models using industry-standard FEA tools. Analyze metallic and composite structures, including subsystem installations. Interpret engineering drawings, assemblies, installation models, and 3D CAD data. Support structural investigations, design optimization, and engineering change activities. Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and production teams to ensure structural integrity and compliance. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. Recent Level 4 Stress Analysis experience in the aerospace industry. Strong experience with airframe primary structure layout and sizing. Expertise in hand calculations and Excel-based structural analysis. Proficiency with NASTRAN, HyperMesh, Patran, or Abaqus. Experience with
CATIA V5.
Ability to interpret detail, assembly, and installation drawings and models. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience performing MRB stress analysis. Experience with metallic and composite aircraft structures. Familiarity with Abaqus advanced analysis capabilities. Experience with TMP Vision or similar post-processing tools. Knowledge of SLIM, Vision, IDAT, and 3DX. Familiarity with UNIX/Linux operating systems.
