Frisco, TX About the role As a Building Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and repairing building systems across a large healthcare facility, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, roofing, and life safety systems. You'll play a key role in ensuring the site operates safely, efficiently, and in line with regulatory and internal standards. Key responsibilities Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, structural, fire and life safety, and control systems to keep facilities in optimal condition. Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and internal directives related to building operations and safety. Maintain and support energy management programs, helping building systems run in the most efficient manner. Assist in implementing preventive maintenance programs so equipment meets or exceeds its expected life and availability. Respond to and resolve emergency maintenance issues, stabilizing conditions and performing corrective repairs. Follow policies for the safe storage, use, and disposal of hazardous materials, maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Inspect building systems—including HVAC, fire alarms, and plumbing—to ensure equipment operates within design capabilities and supports required environmental conditions. Apply technical knowledge to complex assignments and contribute practical solutions to system and process challenges. Coach and support other team members, sharing expertise across multiple disciplines within the facilities function. Qualifications High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma and several years of facilities or building engineering experience; equivalent combinations of education and experience considered. Relevant licenses/certifications (e.g. HVAC, electrical, Universal CFC) as required by local or state jurisdictions preferred. Prior experience in a hospital or healthcare environment is an advantage. Ability to meet physical requirements including standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying loads of 50 lbs or more. Strong judgment and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to analyze information from multiple sources.
