Role:
Power Project Engineer Our Vision:

The Power Project Engineer performs engineering design evaluations and works to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints. This role reviews industry policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance, and reviews reports of production, malfunction, and maintenance to determine or address problems. The position provides technical support for the engineering process and includes backup responsibilities for the Project Manager as required. This role relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job, works under immediate supervision, and primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. This position is based in Midland.

Responsibilities:

Participate in Invitation to Tender (ITT) development, bid evaluation, and contractor selection Participate in identification and sourcing long lead equipment, assuring Front End Engineering Design (FEED) contractor support until equipment is assigned to the contractor Coordinate development of Capital Project Management System Gate 3 deliverables Coordinate development of Functional Interaction Plan Coordinate project issues resolution process Coordinate change requests and endorse change authorization Responsible for the completion of the assigned work scope consistent with the Project Objectives Engage Project Team and functional resources to verify that the design and construction is consistent with project specifications and standards Serve as interface between Project Team and Contractor Ensure smooth transitions between project stages Lead Project Management Team (PMT) in applying

Project Management Systems Skills and Qualifications:
Education:

BS or MS degree in engineering field - strong preference in electrical engineering or related field

Required Experience:

5 years minimum experience in high voltage electrical field and/or oil and gas industry Experience in multiple assignments in engineering, construction, and project management and controls activities Prior experience supporting electrical substation and transmission line projects Broad range of experience and skills through multiple function and project assignments (Multi-discipline skill set)

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Broad knowledge of design standards, specifications and work processes, particularly high voltage electrical facility design and associated regulations and standards applicable in the U.S. (NEC, API 14F) Understanding of selection and specification of electrical systems and equipment such as transformers, switchgear, reclosers, protective relays, HV/MV power cables Knowledgeable of ERCOT and/or SPP grid design, operation, and capabilities Strong leadership, influencing and interpersonal skills Strong organizational, coordination, planning and interface skills Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads and frequent changes in priorities Excellent communication skills and ability to read, write and speak fluent English Proficient in MS Office suite of software programs Prior experience using
