By 7:00 a.m., you're reading the day's plan, rigging safely, and assembling systems that become skylines. That's a day in the life on our commercial steel erection team in Abilene, TX. Who We're Hiring Telehandler/SkyTrak Operator - Commercial Construction PEMB Installer - Pre‑Engineered Metal Buildings with IMP experience We're staffing a long‑term project and bringing on dependable pros who work safely, efficiently, and with minimal supervision. All pay and per diem are the same across these roles. Location Abilene, TX Pay & Per Diem $25/hr DOE plus $115/day per diem If you work 6 days, you receive per diem for 7 days; if you work 7 days, you receive per diem for 8 days Paid 0.5 hour daily for the bus ride to the site (ride itself is about 10 minutes) Per diem is ONLY available to candidates traveling in and staying in the local area
Schedule Full-Time, Contract Mon-Fri:
7:00-5:00 with a 45‑minute lunch
Saturday:
7:00-3:30 (8 hours) Occasional Sundays as needed (4 hours; no double pay) What You'll Do Install insulated metal panels (IMP), wall panels, and PEMB components Detail and connect structural steel and building systems— no welding Assemble prefabricated building systems from drawings and specs Read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and installation plans Operate and work safely with hand/power tools, lifts, and rigging Work at heights in an active construction environment Deliver quality workmanship while maintaining pace and safety Coordinate closely with crew leads and field supervisors What You Bring OSHA 30 certification (required) Comfort working at heights and in varying weather Reliable transportation and strong attendance Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physical work Safety‑first mindset and team orientation Preferred Proficiencies Rigging & load handling Blueprint reading Butler Buildings Insulated metal panel installation Ironwork installation Pre‑Engineered Metal Building erection Structural steel assembly Working comfortably at heights The Ideal Teammate Mechanically inclined, detail‑driven, and experienced with prefab metal building assembly.
