About this Role As a Geotechnical Engineering Intern, you will work under the guidance of experienced engineers to support design and construction activities for large energy infrastructure projects including substations, transmission lines, data centers, and others. You will assist with tasks such as geotechnical site characterization, geologic risk analysis, engineering analysis for design of foundations (shallow and deep), and engineering support during construction. This role is primarily office-based, with opportunities for occasional site visits. What You'll Do Assist in developing and executing geotechnical characterization programs. Assist in preparing geotechnical characterization reports. Assist in preparing foundation design drawings and specifications. Assist in geotechnical data processing and data analysis Assist in analysis and develop of design recommendations associate with shallow and deep foundations. Participate in developing cost estimates and project documentation. Collaborate with engineers and construction managers to ensure project goals are met. Perform basic research and prepare reports or presentations as needed. Attend team meetings and learn about design-build (DB) and engineer-procure-construct (EPC) delivery methods. What You'll Bring Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field with a focus on structural design. Completed coursework in civil engineering fundamentals (e.g., geotechnical, structures, concrete, steel). Familiarity with structural modeling software such as LPILE, GROUP, SHAFT, etc. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively and take direction from senior engineers.
