Join our team as a Project Engineer and play a key role in supporting the successful execution of commercial mechanical construction projects. Working alongside experienced Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams, you'll gain valuable hands-on experience, strengthen your technical and project management skills, and help deliver high-quality HVAC and plumbing projects from preconstruction through completion. Key Responsibilities Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and overall project execution. Assist in coordinating HVAC and plumbing installations to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget. Review and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and commercial construction documents. Monitor project progress and communicate updates to project managers, field teams, and clients. Assist with RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, and project documentation. Collaborate with field personnel to resolve project challenges and maintain productivity. Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal departments to ensure successful project delivery. Help ensure compliance with company safety standards, quality requirements, and project specifications. Support project closeout activities, including punch lists, documentation, and turnover packages. Requirements 0-2 years of experience in commercial construction project coordination or project management (mechanical construction experience preferred). Foundational knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems and installation processes. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and construction documents. Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and grow within the mechanical construction industry. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Location This position is based at our headquarters in Reston, VA and requires travel to project sites throughout the DMV area (approximately 30-40% travel).
