Job Description
Project Engineer Segars Engineering is a multi-discipline firm focused on serving industrial and manufacturing clients with offices in Charlottesville and Roanoke, VA. Solve it!" because we believe that seeing the problem is the first step towards a solution. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Engineer to join our Roanoke office. In this role, you will complete design and engineering projects for our clients. Your outgoing personality will drive and move forward design and engineering projects for key clients. Your experience with CAD, steel, concrete and industrial and manufacturing building systems will ensure that projects are completed effectively to the highest standards contributing to the overall success of the project. The ideal candidate will excel at the following duties and responsibilities:
- Perform onsite field work at industrial and manufacturing client sites which will include communicating with clients, developing the scope of work, taking measurements, scanning, sketching concepts, communicating and interacting with stakeholders on projects that involve existing and new infrastructure.
- Draft concepts independently as well as within a collaborative project team using CAD software.
- Work with designers and engineers to develop design documents.
- Coordinate with the engineer of record to produce construction documents.
- Work within a collaborative team environment as well as independently depending on the size and scope of the project.
Required Qualifications:
- A.A.S. or B.S. in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
- 2-5 years of experience with design, engineering, and construction within industrial or manufacturing facilities.
- Advanced skill with AutoCAD, REVIT, Plant3D and other CAD design software.
- Knowledge of building systems such as foundations, footers, concrete, steel, etc.
- Ability to sketch and develop concepts and collaborate with a team.
- Capable of interacting with clients and developing productive working relationships.
- Prior consulting engineer, design, and construction experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with capital project development and the FEL process is desired.

Pay:
$75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per yearBenefits:
