Civil Engineer
  • Residential Land Development Vienna, Virginia | Full-Time | In-Person $110,000
  • 145,000 per year, depending on experience A well-established luxury residential homebuilder and real estate development company in Northern Virginia is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer
  • Residential Land Development to join our team at our Vienna, Virginia office.
This is an in-house position , not a consulting role. The engineer will work directly with our acquisition, design and construction teams to evaluate properties, solve site-development challenges, coordinate approvals and help move luxury residential projects from acquisition through construction. Responsibilities The Civil Engineer will be involved throughout the land-development process, including: Evaluate prospective properties for development and buildability Review zoning, setbacks, easements, utilities and development constraints Perform preliminary site and feasibility analysis prior to land acquisition Develop and review grading and drainage plans Stormwater management and BMP analysis Erosion and sediment control Water and sanitary sewer planning and coordination Site layout and residential lot planning Subdivision and lot-line adjustment analysis Coordinate surveys, plats and easements Assist with VDOT and entrance-related requirements Prepare and/or review civil construction documents Coordinate with Fairfax County and other Northern Virginia jurisdictions Track plans through permitting and respond to review comments Work directly with architects, surveyors, landscape architects, outside engineers and construction personnel Visit active properties and construction sites as needed Identify potential site-development problems early and develop practical solutions Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field Approximately 5+ years of civil/site or land-development experience preferred Strong residential land-development experience Northern Virginia land-development experience strongly preferred Fairfax County experience is highly desirable Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D Knowledge of grading, drainage, stormwater management and erosion and sediment control Understanding of public water and sanitary sewer systems Experience with subdivision and residential site-development approvals Ability to interpret surveys, plats, easements and engineering plans Strong problem-solving and communication skills Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects Virginia PE license preferred but not required for the right candidate Compensation & Benefits $110,000

You will have a meaningful role in deciding which properties we acquire, how they are developed and how engineering challenges are solved. Our projects include high-end and ultra-luxury residential properties throughout Northern Virginia, with a particular concentration in McLean, Vienna and Fairfax County . This is an in-person position based in Vienna, Virginia .
Pay:
$110,000.00
