Job Description We're re-launching our Civil Engineering Department in Seattle and seeking aSenior Discipline Civil Engineerto help build it from the ground up. This is a high-impact role for a proven technical leader who's excited to shape a team, elevate client relationships, and grow a practice-with clear leadership responsibility and potential pathway to management/ownership (subject to company policies) in a well-established multi-discipline office.

Key responsibilities will include:

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, designers, and technical staff Foster a collaborative and high-performance work culture Manage civil engineering projects from inception to completion, maintaining quality, schedule, and budget adherence Provide technical oversight and quality control for designs, reports, and deliverables Serve as a subject matter expert in civil engineering design, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices Identify and pursue business opportunities Develop and maintain relationships with clients, municipalities, and key stakeholders Lead proposal development, contract negotiations, and project scope discussions Monitor project profitability and implement process improvements as needed This position is not eligible for sponsorship. Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Experience coordinating with a multi-discipline design team is strongly preferred Experience collaborating with local architectural/engineering community is strongly preferred Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Microsoft office and other software Project experience in Industrial, Federal, and Alternative Energy / Energy Storage markets strongly preferred Experience designing public utilities Experience serving as a prime consultant Experience with zoning entitlements and permit procurement Ability to work with counterparts in other Coffman offices to share workload when required Experience with managing day-to-day contacts with internal and external clients utilizing experience and technology to meet expectations Experience attending and participating in local professional organizations Specification preparation experience preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Must be a self-starter, persistent, and follow through in a consistent manner Passionate about the client or pursuit and takes ownership of his/her work Able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment Possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities Maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers Strong understanding of A/E/C industry terminology and procedures and basic marketing principles Strong organizational ability; detail oriented; high degree of accuracy Must work well under pressure Positive contributor to overall office and department goals, culture, and morale Excellent time management skills Ability to provide peer reviews of colleagues' work product Ability to work with counterparts in other offices to share workload when required A positive, can-do attitude Expected annual salary of $130,000 - $180,000.
