Job Description

Project Engineer / Estimator Help Build Exceptional Homes. Do you enjoy solving problems, analyzing project details, and helping guide projects from preconstruction through completion? At Paceline Construction, we build custom luxury homes and high-end remodels throughout Sheboygan County and the surrounding area. Most of our projects are located near the beautiful Elkhart Lake area, allowing you to work close to home while helping create some of the area's most distinctive homes. We're looking for a self-starter, detail-oriented Project Engineer / Estimator who enjoys both the technical side of estimating and the collaborative nature of project execution. In this role, you'll develop estimates, coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers, and provide project engineering support throughout construction to help ensure projects stay organized, on schedule, and on budget. What You'll Do Project Engineering Support the Project Manager throughout the construction process by assisting with project planning, coordination, and documentation. Coordinate permit applications and utility services. Coordinate with owners, vendors, and subcontractors to facilitate communication and resolve project issues. Assist with scheduling, project meetings, and progress tracking. Help ensure projects remain organized, on schedule, and aligned with company quality standards. Estimating Develop accurate construction estimates by reviewing project plans and drawings. Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analysis for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services. Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing. Issue purchase orders and assist with subcontract preparation. Maintain organized estimating files and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes. What We're Looking For Experience in residential construction estimating, project engineering, project coordination, or a related construction role. Strong understanding of residential construction methods. Ability to interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications and perform accurate quantity takeoffs. Experience with estimating and project management software; Buildertrend experience is preferred but not required. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and relationship-building skills with project managers, field staff, clients, architects, vendors, and subcontractors. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. Self-motivated with a proactive approach and a desire to continually improve processes.
