Job Summary The Staff Civil Engineering Technician - Water Functions supports engineering and design teams by developing and modifying technical deliverables for water-related projects. This role applies engineering principles and design standards to create technical documentation using CAD, BIM, and 3D modeling software while providing technical guidance to ensure high-quality project deliverables. Job Description Apply knowledge of engineering standards, systems, document control, departmental guidelines, applicable codes, and BV policies and procedures Review project requirements and accurately determine the appropriate format and content of required deliverables Proactively apply the BV Quality Program to deliverables while maintaining a high level of accuracy and supporting continuous improvement and change management initiatives Review design inputs to ensure consistency and compliance with applicable project codes and standards Apply engineering principles and established design practices to develop moderately complex design concepts and deliverables Exercise sound judgment when interpreting design inputs and making decisions related to project deliverables Handle complex technical assignments within an area of expertise and provide technical guidance to other engineering professionals Perform design calculations, material quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and maintain accurate engineering records Review the technical deliverables of other team members to ensure quality and accuracy Define work assignments and maintain project schedules as needed Program control systems or participate in plant start-up activities related to a specialized area of expertise, when required Coordinate with other design team members to exchange project information and support design development Support field activities as needed while focusing on the needs of internal clients and understanding external client priorities and business drivers Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices by proactively seeking and sharing knowledge Apply sound judgment and make informed decisions regarding project deliverables and the interpretation of design inputs Skills Required A minimum of 5 years of related work experience. Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D Experience with Civil 3D grading Knowledge of engineering design principles, drafting standards, and applicable codes Experience using CAD, BIM, and 3D modeling software Experience with PVcase and PV Farm software preferred Ability to develop and review engineering drawings and technical deliverables Ability to perform design calculations, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to provide technical guidance and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams Commitment to continuous improvement and quality assurance Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Education/Training/Certifications Diploma or Certificate required. Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Design Technology, or a related field preferred.
