Water & Infrastructure Position Overview Our client is seeking a Civil Associate Engineering Technician•Water to support multidisciplinary infrastructure projects within the Water & Industrial Water market sector. This position will contribute to site development efforts including grading and drainage, erosion control, roadway layout, fencing, and underground utilities design. This is an onsite opportunity in Orlando, Florida , ideal for local candidates seeking contract-to-permanent placement with long-term growth potential. Job Summary Under general supervision, the Associate Engineering Technician supports engineering teams by producing high-quality technical drawings and project deliverables. This role requires intermediate knowledge of civil engineering principles and hands-on proficiency with industry-standard design tools such as Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley MicroStation . The position plays a key role in Virtual Design and Data Solutions, supporting complex infrastructure projects serving government and community clients. Key Responsibilities Develop and modify site development plans using Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley MicroStation Support grading, drainage, erosion control, roadway, fencing, and underground utility design Create alignments, pipe networks, plan & profile drawings, cross sections, and surface models Assist with proposed grading and surface modeling Generate and maintain technical documentation and project deliverables Perform basic calculations including material quantity estimates and dimensional checks Coordinate deliverables with other engineering disciplines to minimize conflicts Ensure compliance with quality standards, procedures, and document control practices Support internal stakeholders while gaining exposure to client expectations Stay current on new technologies, tools, and process improvements Required Qualifications Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley MicroStation Experience creating alignments, pipe networks, plan/profile sheets, and sections Experience with grading and surface modeling Minimum 2 years of related civil drafting/design experience Diploma or Certificate required Associate Degree in Drafting or Engineering Design Technology preferred Ability to complete pre-employment screening (background check, drug screen, MVR if applicable)
