Common examples of these investigation requests include foundation claims, moisture investigations, useful remaining portions of residential and commercial structures after a loss event, vehicle or storm damage to structures, explosions, retaining wall failures, etc. Essential Functions Engineering analyses related to a variety of projects include, but not limited to, commercial and residential buildings, retaining walls, flatwork, towers, reinforced slopes, bridges, drainageways, and any other structurally related projects. Evaluate data from engineering reports and documents, construction plans and documentation, municipal records, site photographs and field notes, deposition transcripts, and various other court proceedings to form conclusions. Review supplied file information, perform in-town and out-of-town inspections (including crawlspaces, attics, roofs, etc.), conduct interviews, draw floor plans, document site-specific and environmental variables, take relative elevation foundation and/or topographical measurements, obtain photographic support (with voice annotations), and document any other relevant information. Communicate with clients about project details during the project life cycle and document all correspondence. Requirements Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, with proven experience in forensic investigations, data analysis, and report writing. Structural engineering education and experience preferred. Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, and 1-3 years of experience preferred.
