Job Description

Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Designer to support civil and structural engineering projects from concept through construction. The ideal candidate will be proficient in AutoCAD and other design software, possess a strong understanding of engineering principles, and be capable of preparing accurate construction drawings, plans, and technical documents. This position will work closely with clients, and contractors to develop high-quality design packages for a variety of civil and structural projects. Candidates with an engineering degree or professional design certifications are strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities Perform civil and structural engineering design for commercial, industrial, municipal, and infrastructure projects. Develop engineering plans, specifications, details, calculations, and supporting documentation. Design foundations, concrete structures, steel structures, equipment supports, utility systems, site improvements, drainage systems, and related infrastructure. Prepare grading, utility, drainage, erosion control, and site development plans. Perform engineering calculations and analyses to support project designs. Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and client requirements. Design & Technical Documentation Prepare and maintain engineering drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, SolidWorks, and related software. Develop permit packages and construction documents. Prepare technical reports, engineering narratives, exhibits, and supporting documentation. Maintain project records and document revisions throughout project development. Project Management & Coordination Coordinate directly with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders. Manage engineering deliverables and project schedules. Review project requirements and develop practical engineering solutions. Respond to requests for information (RFIs), submittals, and construction-related inquiries. Conduct site visits, field investigations, and project inspections as required. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field preferred. PE license a plus. Minimum of 2 years of engineering design experience. Proficiency with AutoCAD required. Experience with Civil 3D, SolidWorks, Revit, or similar design software preferred. Strong knowledge of civil and structural engineering principles, codes, and construction practices. Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently. Preferred Qualifications Experience with fuel system design, petroleum infrastructure, industrial facilities, or commercial site development. Familiarity with California building codes and permitting processes. Autodesk AutoCAD Certification, Civil 3D Certification, or SolidWorks Certification.
