Design & Drafting Assistant Atelier 19AD6 Inc. — Oakland, CA Full-Time | In-Person $28-$34/hour, depending on experience Atelier 19AD6 is a multidisciplinary design-build studio working across residential, commercial, hospitality, and development projects throughout the Bay Area. We are looking for a Design & Drafting Assistant who can support our team across architectural drafting, design development, project documentation, field verification, estimating, and general project coordination. This is a hands-on position for someone who is comfortable moving between design, drafting, construction documentation, spreadsheets, and real-world project conditions. Responsibilities Prepare and revise architectural drawings and construction documents. Develop floor plans, elevations, sections, details, and schedules. Assist with existing-condition documentation and field measurements. Translate sketches, markups, and design concepts into accurate drawings. Assist with design development and material/product research. Prepare 3D models and presentation drawings. Coordinate drawing revisions and project information. Assist with construction estimating, quantity takeoffs, and project spreadsheets. Maintain organized project files using Google Workspace. Assist with permit corrections, consultant coordination, and construction documentation. Work directly with the Principal and project team on active design-build projects. Required Software Skills Applicants must have working experience with all of the following: Chief Architect AutoCAD SketchUp Google Workspace Microsoft Excel and/or Apple Numbers These are required skills, not preferred qualifications. Qualifications Strong architectural drafting and technical-documentation skills. Ability to read and understand architectural and construction drawings. Strong attention to dimensions, details, and accuracy. Comfortable working on multiple projects at different stages. Organized and able to manage digital files and project information. Ability to work independently while also taking direction and incorporating markups quickly. Interest in both design and construction is strongly preferred. Residential and/or commercial architecture, interior design, construction, or design-build experience is a plus. This is an in-person position in Oakland . Our work combines architecture, interior design, construction, cost modeling, and project development, so this role is best suited for someone who wants exposure to more than traditional drafting alone.
