This role focuses on residential ADUs and single family new home projects . The position involves collaborating with residential architects, structural engineers, and project managers, ensuring compliance with California Residential Code and local ADU regulations , and preparing permit ready 2D drawings with limited 3D support for client presentations when needed. The ideal candidate will maintain accurate residential project documentation, coordinate with construction teams, and understand the city planning and building department review process . This role is not intended for civil or commercial design backgrounds .
Responsibilities:
Develop detailed residential architectural drawings for ADUs and single family homes based on initial concepts and specifications. Collaborate with architects, residential engineers, and project managers to refine designs and resolve technical issues related to wood frame residential construction . Utilize AutoCAD to create accurate and precise permit ready construction drawings . Ensure designs comply with California Residential Code, local zoning requirements, and ADU specific regulations . Maintain and update project documentation, including revisions required by plan check comments and city corrections . Prepare 2D drawings and limited 3D visuals to assist in client presentations and residential design reviews . Coordinate with contractors and construction teams to ensure design intent is followed during residential construction . Stay updated on residential building codes, ADU regulations, and drafting standards relevant to California projects.
Pay:
$72,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
