We're looking for an experienced designer with strong creative instincts, solid technical and construction knowledge, and the ability to confidently take a project from concept through installation. The Role You'll work collaboratively with our design team across residential renovations, new builds, and furnishing projects. Depending on the project, you may develop the creative direction, collaborate on the vision, or take an established concept and bring it to life. You'll be involved in: Developing design concepts, space plans, material palettes, furnishings, lighting, and custom details Designing kitchens, bathrooms, built-ins, and other construction-heavy spaces Creating and reviewing construction drawings, elevations, lighting plans, and design documentation Sourcing and specifying finishes, fixtures, furnishings, and materials Communicating with clients, contractors, architects, vendors, and trades Attending site meetings and confidently working through construction and design questions Managing project details from design development through installation Pivoting as projects evolve and jumping in wherever needed as part of a small studio
Who We're Looking For:
You're a strong designer who can see the big picture while staying on top of the details. You're creative, technically capable, comfortable on a job site, and understand how homes are actually built. Just as importantly, you're kind, fun, laid-back, reliable, and collaborative. You communicate well, follow through, are comfortable receiving creative direction, and aren't afraid to speak up with an idea—or admit when you've made a mistake and fix it. Experience 5+ years of residential interior design experience Strong renovation and construction knowledge, particularly kitchens and bathrooms Strong technical drawing and documentation skills Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar drafting software Experience with both furnishings and construction-based projects Confident working directly with clients, contractors, vendors, and trades Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects Schedule & Benefits Full-time position Primarily studio and job-site based in San Diego Some flexibility in working hours Paid time off and company holidays 401(k) with company match
