Job Description:
Enginova, Inc. is seeking candidates with education and relevant on-the-job experience for the role of a computer-aided drafter to support the CAD/BIM manager. Ideal candidates would have experience in the operation of computer-aided drafting programs such as Autodesk AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent drafting or building information model (BIM) software. Enginova's clients are in the commercial, laboratory, manufacturing, and hospitality sectors of construction. Clients and future projects are moving toward Revit or Auto
CAD MEP 3D
design formats, the candidate is to be comfortable with 3D design and understand the software operation.
Company and Job Outlook:
Enginova is a small business located in Santee, CA with projects occurring in 20 states. The job requires constant communication with office staff such as lead designers, project managers, and the Principal-in-Charge.
Responsibilities:
Assist the BIM Manager in Project setup and background updates. Assist the BIM Manager in developing and maintaining the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) for projects. Help coordinate BIM models between disciplines. Perform model checks and clash detection in Navisworks. Ensure projects and models comply with company standards and project requirements. Maintain and update the BIM standards, templates, and libraries. Assist in documenting workflows, procedures, and guidelines for project teams. Support the preparation of project deliverables which includes plotting, checkset, eTransmit and platform conversion. Drafter and BIM Specialist Provide AutoCAD and Revit support to project teams. Assist in troubleshooting project issues and fixing technical drawing problems. Assist in training team members on BIM processes and software tools. Assist in standard meeting.
Common Tasks Include:
Setting up projects and updating backgrounds Helps maintain project setup integrity and consistency. Supports the manager in coordination, documentation, and drawing checks. Ensures AutoCAD and Revit drawings are consistent and meet standards. Organize project deliverables, archive old versions, ensure documentation compliance. Manages plotting, sheet sets, templates and libraries. eTransmit and project conversion. Oversees 3D models, clash detection, and model QA. Review and update CAD/BIM templates, families, blocks, and libraries. CAD Technician /
BIM Modeler:
Drafts, updates CAD drawings, create and updates Revit family. Assist team members with software questions, updates, or workflow issues. Log updates in project trackers, note model changes, and maintain checklists. Log and update template errors. Perform clash detection, model checks, and drawing compliance with standards. Review BIM Execution Plans, CAD/BIM standards, and update documentation as needed. Attend coordination meetings; document decisions and distribute action items.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • Without degree, currently enrolled in community college or relevant job experience as a drafter or designer.
  • Strong production skills in both Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Strong English written and oral technical communication skills.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
