Summary:
Blackburn is seeking a full-time Sr. Project Manager to win, manage and complete moderate-to-complete design projects. This person will work under the Civil Design Principal and senior firm leadership. This candidate should have 15+ years of civil design experience. This position requires some travel to project related sites, project management, client relations, and internal staff management.Company Overview:

Blackburn provides geotechnical, geo-civil, geo-environmental, construction, and forensics engineering services throughout California with offices in Auburn, West Sacramento, Escondido, Sausalito, and Fresno. We have an extensive geotechnical and materials testing lab in West Sacramento, CA. We focus mostly on public works including flood control and transportation. Blackburn has been in business since 1998 and is employee-owned and operated.Technical Duties:
- Maintain and develop client relationships
- Manage and control project scope, budget, schedule, quality and risk
- Coordinate resources and delivery milestones with other project managers
- Assist with preparing proposals to win work
- Work on moderate to complex projects requiring independent study and responsible judgment
- Produce and edit reports, calculations, and PS&E construction documents
- Perform technical, quality and risk reviews
- Collaborate with other internal and external multi-discipline professionals and contractors
- Conduct impactful meetings
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of industry standards
- Perform historical and analytical project research
- Interpret technical reports, plans and specifications
Leadership and Managerial Duties:
- Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and contractors
- Understand and review contracts Understand project scopes and Blackburn's services
- Understand and manage risk
- Review and assign project tasks while following deadlines and budgets
- Identify and resolve project issues
Essential Abilities:
- Advanced communication skills, internally and externally
- Ability to deliver a high-quality deliverable in a timely manner
- Edit and write thorough, cohesive reports in the active voice
- Work well with many personalities
Self-starter Technical Qualifications:
- California Registered Professional Civil Engineer License (PE)
- 15+ years of relevant experience
- Valid driver's license
- Computer Savvy, proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Windows based systems)
- Working knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD and Civil 3D software
Other Requirements:
- Read, write, and speak English
- Communicate clearly in person and over telephone
- Visual acuity to perform job duties
- Physical ability to bend, reach, stand, walk, sit, push and pull up to 40lbs.
